FromThe Xealot SubjectIssue #1: AI answers read your Business Profile

Tony’s take

Google’s AI answers, ChatGPT and Gemini are all pulling their facts about local businesses from somewhere, and that somewhere is your website, your Google Business Profile and your reviews. The tricks people sell for “AI SEO” keep losing to the boring work.

Local marketing

The page that ranks is often not the page AI cites

@HitLambaAI on X, Oct 25

Parse’s study of 214 buyer prompts: only 18% of the pages ChatGPT Search cited were in a search top 10 for the same question, and 36.9% for Google AI Mode.

My take: Rank, then make the plain service and pricing page worth quoting.

Gemini reads Maps. ChatGPT reads Yelp.

@GetMapLabs on X, Oct 26

Gemini connects to Google Maps data, and ChatGPT has partnered with Yelp for reviews, ratings and photos.

My take: Your listings are now source material for AI answers. Keep hours, photos and reviews current on both.

Faith tech

Tech companies asked faith groups to help shape AI

X News, Oct 27

Anthropic wrote its “constitution” for Claude with input from more than 15 religious groups, per X’s news summary.

My take: The people building AI are asking about values out loud. Good to see faith communities at the table.
